Make plans now to enjoy the magnificent talents of Liz Callaway when she takes the stage at the Scholarship Celebration on April 30. An Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee, Liz has been described as “an incomparable talent” and a “quintessential female voice of 80s Broadway.” Since her Broadway debut in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, she has performed in numerous New York productions, including Baby, The Three Musketeers and Miss Saigon. Liz received widespread acclaim for singing “Memory” in her long-standing role as Grizabella in Cats. Liz sang the Academy Award nominated song “Journey to the Past” in the animated feature Anastasia and is the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin and the King of Thieves and The Return of Jafar. Her resume of animated voice work also includes characters in Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride and The Swan Princess. Legacy League’s Scholarship Celebration will be held Thursday, April 30 at Covenant Presbyterian Church. The evening of fellowship, food and artistry includes a reception, seated dinner and Liz Callaway’s 90-minute concert. Proceeds from the event will provide scholarships to students with significant financial need and challenging circumstances.
